These are exciting times to work in the airline industry.  Despite turbulence in the money market that affects almost every single business in the western world, there are great opportunities to be found, if we just make sure to keep our eyes open for them and our minds open for new ideas and concepts.

In times such as today there are opportunities everywhere.  Opportunities to re-evaluate deals that have been done in the past, re-evaluate ideas that have been dismissed in the past, re-evaluate the way things have been done in the past and figure out how we can use these ideas, processes and deals to change our landscape to make it better and more stable.

Examples of things we are re-evaluating are our web-analytics, our online budget, PPC campaigns, e-PR’s and online publishing partners.  These are all factors that affect how effective our online activities will be and how effectively we can make ourselves visible in the online market.

Re-evaluating our online activities and analyze what every single advertising dollar spent online is returning in no easy task, but with great tools and good partners almost anything can be accomplished.

My idea is that by making all tasks simpler and all processes more transparent, to us and the customer, than they are today, we should be able to create more effective online campaigns and sell more seats on board our airplanes in a shorter period of time than we are doing today.

A fellow blogger and an entrepreneur, Hjálmar Gíslason, wrote and interesting post on a related subject where he suggests total transparency in corporate finance and has in fact formed a company to make information,  in almost any form, more transparent and easier to use and understand.  And effictive example is a microsite he created to explain the proposed spendings of the Icelandic Government for next year.  An excellent example of how to make things easier to understand.
